Volunteers Needed for MACMA Selangor

    Assalammualaikum.
MACMA Selangor is opening our arms to invite our fellow Chinese Muslim brothers and sisters to join us so that we can work better towards a common goal of dakwah and welfare to both Muslims and non-Muslims.

As is stated in Chapter 3 Surah Al Imran verse 103, the Quran says:

“And hold fast all together by the Rope (religion) which Allah (stretches out for you) and be not divided among yourselves, and remember with gratitude Allah’s favour on you, for you were enemies and he joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace you became brethren…”

Presently, MACMA SELANGOR has registered more than 400 members and now has its office at Jalan Metro Perdana Barat 1, Taman Usahawan, Kepong Utara, which is a strategic location for dakwah.

    Our Vision

MACMA would endeavor to bring forth Muslims in general and the Chinese Muslims in particular to become "Khairun Ummah" as defined by the Qur'an in order to build a unity through diversity society . To foster volunteerism spirit among members, uplift social , economy status and establish a learned and knowledgeable Islamic community .

    Our Mission

Our mission is to further promote the interests of our organization and our members to the community. We strive to make a difference by educating the public and expanding our reach.
Internally, MACMA is to effectively cater for the welfare of Chinese Muslims both materially and spiritually, and externally to act conscientiously and effectively as vehicle of communication with the predominant non-Muslim Malaysian Chinese population.

We have had conducted various programs and activities:

    Major annual programs such as:
    a. Gong Xi Fa Cai with non Muslims families and fellow Muslims.
    b. Happy Happy Hari Raya also with non Muslims families and fellow Muslims.
    c. MACMA Selangor Youth Camp 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012.
    d. Korban Idil Adha with fellow Muslims.

Besides that, among other activities or programs we have are:
    a. Visits and aids to muallafs in distress.
    b. We also are in collaboration with MERCY MADINAH CENTRE/ HOME to send to them our muallaf sisters who need temporary shelter.
    c. We help to distribute zakat among muallafs especially in the holy month of Ramadhan.
(please refer to full report in AGM report)

    MACMA financial source:
    a. MACMA receives between RM20 000 – 40 000 annually from Lembaga Zakat via MAIS.
    b. From time to time MACMA collaborates with MAIS / JAIS on some programs. If we initiate the programs with good working paper they may sponsor it.
    c. We also get strong support from Yayasan Rasma and assistance from other organizations.

    Our plans for the future:
    a. MACMA Selangor intends to establish a CHINESE ISLAMIC CULTURAL CENTRE (CICC) in Selangor.
    b. We have started KOPERASI MACMA Selangor – it is now in the process of approval by Suruhanjaya Koperasi Malaysia. It is started with the noble aim for MACMA Selangor to be financially independent in future.

Areas of activities that need improvement:
    a. To organize regular Islamic classes for members and public in Mandarin and in English.
    b. To do more dakwah to fellow Chinese non Muslims. For this, we need more Mandarin and English educated daie’s who can deliver fully in Mandarin or English.
    c. To conduct Islamic classes at members’ homes for those unable to travel to attend classes by Pejabat Agama.
    d. Matchmaking for muallafs.
    e. Giving guidance and support to help muallafs to adapt themselves to their new lives after becoming Muslims.
    f. To engage in providing answers on some contemporary social-political issues so as to clear confusion created by politicians such as Hudud, LBGT, Non Muslims’ Rights in an Islamic State etc.
    g. Providing reference for Chinese Muslim confinement care services.

We need more dedicated people to help to run these activities. We hope more members will step forward to serve MACMA Selangor and develop this organization and make it a model of excellent ummah in Malaysia. May Allah S.W.T. bless us all. Amin ya rabbal alamin.
