Report on 2011 MACMA CNY Open House

MACMA SELANGOR HAPPY HAPPY GONG XI FA CAI

Salam to all,

MACMA Selangor, in collaboration with Hidayah Centre and Ikram held a GONG XI FA CAI open house celebration at HJ SHARIN LOW RESTAURANT at Taman Sri Gombak on 28th Jan 2012. The event started at about 10.00 a.m. Chinese New Chinese New Song Year songs were played. Some of Maher Zain’s songs were also played.

Bro Farid from IKRAM and Bro Hj Kamal Koh were the masters of ceremonies.
Hj Sharin Low delivered a speech followed by the coordinator from IKRAM, Zun ‘Arif Hakim Abdul Rahman. Mr. Tony Pua, MP from Petaling Jaya made a special guest appearance. He was invited by Maj (B) WG Tan. Major Tan has been very helpful to MACMA Selangor since his return from the Philippines but sadly he will be returning to the Phillipines next month.

Our chairman, Hj Sharin Low said in his speech that being a Muslim, one does not need to discard one’s customs and tradition. Islam allows us to pursue our tradition and keep our family ties after we revert. Our prophet Muhammad S.A.W. has always tell his ummah to respect own parents and be filial children.
More than 500 guests attended the open house – consisting of different races and religion. Books and pamphlets were distributed freely. Oranges and angpaus were given away and the food were delicious. There was also a lucky draw and a clown making balloons for kids. The event ended at about 2.30 pm.

MACMA Selangor gratefully thank Al Hidayah and IKRAM for their gracious consent to help us hold this auspicious event. May we cooperate again next year. Amin ya rabbal alamin.
